What could be wrong with my John Lewis Washer/Dryer Model JLWD 1609?

Machine appears dead. No lights come on though power is getting through. I've removed top and power is getting to all the switches, etc. as far as I can determine. Hose connections are all okay.
I'd appreciate any suggestions, thanks.

Power is getting to PCB. The odd thing is that in the 'Off' position the power is there but as soon as I turn the programme selector knob to any programme position then the power stops and I can't then detect any power in any of the wiring to the PCB or nearby wires.

is there power to the pcb?.If yes then pcb power supply might of failed?
