nissan almera dash illumination not working?

i have just replaced my cd player in my almera with a sony head unit and now have no dash illumination can anyone help with this?

I don't have an answer but I did recently put in a Parrot and have the same problem. Apparently there is something in the car radio cabling that has an effect on this.
