how can I fix a zanussi zdc 47100w tumble dryer?

My dryer will only dry on the cotton setting with the timer set. It doesn't get warm on synthetics at all or on the extra or cupboard settings. I have cleaned the filter and the water tray is empty. Why won't it dry?
