ow can I fix my kenwood chef model A901? (more)?

I have the same problem as , full speed no matter what the setting. I would like to try to repair it myself but have no idea what a triac is or how to fit it.

I can find one for £6 here

Is this a simple job?

Maplin sell a triac BTA08-600B which works fine as a replacement. You may need to replace the capacitors and the 220 ohm resistor too.

while you've got the machine apart, you might want to take the opportunity to replace the motor brushes. They were worn down to the copper base on my A901, and the running was very lumpy. Available from the same source (spares2go.co.uk)
