i have a hotpoint washine machine model WMA64 i have tryed to put the belt back on but find it wont go over the wheel at the back of the drum and also is the wheel ment to be smooth or have ridges coz when the belt is on it keeps comming off

when you spin the stainless inner drum does it rumble.common one for belts being thrown are the bearings failed.pulleys are smooth as a rule.put the belt over the motor shaft and then put the belt over the pulley as far as it will.now hold the belt tight on the pulley and using the pulley turn it around until the belt is fully on.
