All that is on the display is "WAIT" i have waited for hours on end with the ignition on, iv been told that i have to wait till it tells me to enter a code, which i have, but nothing happens!!! is there anyting i can do right away???

The manual for Fiat audio says that each time a wrong code is entered into the radio-cassette unit it doubles the wait time before you can enter another code so it could be that there have been a lot of wrong attempts to enter the code. I don't remember the default time on a new unit but if it was 30s after 10 wrong attempts you would have to wait 9 hours.
