Airbag flashing twice then goes off then stays on all time?

i have a 2000 mondeo ghia and just recently the airbag light on the dash has come on it flashes twice goes off flashes twice again goes of does this for a few mins and then stays on permently for a while andy ideas on how to sort this out please as i think it may cost allot to sort not sure

had it done by ford just cost me £88 wasnt happy at all as they said just needed the connectors cleaning grrrrrrrrrrr
