Ice flap on Kitchen Aid Superba?

I have a Superba model KSRS25FGBT00 with the water and ice dispenser on the freezer door. The dispenser area has an electronic pad to choose crushed ice or ice cubes. lights and to turn the dispenser on and off. The ice dispenser has a door on the end of the shute that springs open to allow the ice to slide out , then the door springs closed.
The spring loaded door on the ice shute has broken off and room air is pouring into my freezer. I want to replace the sping loaded door.

Do you know exactly what part broke? My ice dispenser broke in this way just a few days ago (1 month out of warranty!). Upon inspection, I found one of the two little black plastic tabs that hold the hinge for the ice door had broken off. I was able to glue it back on, and the door is working so far. I doubt the glue will hold forever, though.

Unfortunately, now ice no longer dispenses, b/c the arm in the ice-bucket no longer turns. There's a metal 3-tooth gear in the bottom of the ice-bucket which is supposed to mesh with the 3-tooth gear in the door; however, these two gears aren't meeting. I wonder if the gear in the door is supposed to pop up when activated to engage? (I see it spinning, but it doesn't pop up.)

Good luck,
David
