what is banging?

hi, i just replaced the front and rear shock absorbers on my fiat brava 1.2 80sx,but i am still hearing banging every time i drive over a pot hole or bump in the road,can you tell me whats banging please.thank you.

If the dampers are telescopic, it is important to 'prime them' before fitting, by pulling them to max & min travel, several times, in upright position before fitting.If not, there may be air trapped inside which could cause 'banging' like water hammer in plumbing. Hope this helps.
