Halogen oven tripping my electric?

I have had my halogen oven for over a year now and it's been working just fine. Recently when I returned from a week away where it was used and also worked well, it now refuses to work. When I turn it on it trips the electric but only in the socket used. Then I have to reset that socket.

What could be causing this? Do I need to change the fuse?

My first thoughts would be moisture. It needs checking by an engineer using an insulation tester to check my theory out.
