It is possibly just a failed tensioner, but I would always recommend fitting a complete new chain kit.
If the chain fails the repair costs could be more than the car is worth.
It is essential on these engines to change the oil and filter at the correct intervals and use the correct engine oil, poor maintenance is the main cause of chain failure.
