ok there is no keyway on the belt camsproket or the gears at ther back of the cams, the crank position mark under the rubber cover on the top of gearbox/flywheel end only indicates tdc totaly useless as the timing is set with all four pistons in alingment not just two so therefull you need to establish at what point this is ,the corect way is to remove spark plug three n four insert and screw down the two setting tools and the remove the two cam position 8mm blanks to locate the alingment marks on the cams (these are located at number three pot front to back at the top inline with the cams, there are flat spots cut in them to locate the two setting screws ) there you have it . hope this helps .
ps you can do it without the setting tools with two equal lenths of welding wire n a mirror as i have in the past but i would recomend you used the correct setting tool .as if when tightening the sproket bolt things can move so be carfull if useing the well cheap option gd if it works n u pull it off tho :)

I suggest that you put your question in the "car" section. This is for car radios and I only spotted you question by accident. Having said that have you tried a Hayunes manual?
