Vauxhall corsa 1.2 16v 55plate oily substance in under plug in cylinder 4?

My corsa Has an oily substance when i removed the plug from cylinder 4 the other 3 cylinders were fine. im not sure what the fault could be. it sounds like a bag of nails when running with no excess fumes from the exhaust.
It has a misfire which it has picked up on the ecu which i have checked and recieved a fault of P0304, (this states cylinder 4 has a misfire). anybody have any ideas of what it could be. ive been told its the head gasket but have never known oil to be in the system in that case

ive changed the coil pack which made no difference. but thats all ive tried so far

Im discussing with a bloke at work aswell and he has said switch the plug see what happens, and he told me to do a compression check also which i will do tomorrow as he is lending me the equipment.

Is that the best start then.
thanks for your input. its much appreciated
