Hi , timer is set to turn after thirty seconds of turning light pull chord off .Recently it carries on running but not always. When it does I have to re pull and turn off for ever it seems when it is left in the long run situation. .thank you

I have encountered the same problem with my Vent-Axia 100T fan. The timer pcb is sensitive to voltage spikes when fluorescent or transformer loads are switched nearby. You may have to by-pass the timer feature by switching the fan on/off just on the lighting switch.
Vent-Axia are aware of this problem and suggest a "suppressor" could be fitted but say the fan meets the industry standard.

Usually there's a little thermostat, heated by a wirewound resistor across the motor terminals. This thermostat connects the fan motor to the Live (not the switched) side of the switch. When the switch moves to the off position, the resistor is dosconnected, cools and allows the thermostat to open up its contacts again. Sounds like the thermostat contacts could have welded together. It should be open circuit when cool, closed when hot. Careful!!! The fan always has one wire Live unless you pull the fuse!!!
