Ck the counter pcb on the image processor pcb first.
Unplug copier & remove the rear cover. The counter pcb is located near the lower left corner of the image processor pcb into J351. Unplug & reseat the counter pcb. Turn on copier. It should clear the error.
If an E246 is still displayed, it could be that the counter pcb has a fault or one from another machine has been installed. Each counter pcb is specific to each machine, if one is taken & installed on another machine, an E246 will occur.
