why do bulbs keep blowing?

two/three times per year, I have to replace bulbs in the Dimplex coal effect electric fire, any thoughts as to why

it could be cheap lamps or you could be getting voltage surges,B&Q sell a minature spiral lamp 9watt that fits and should last 10,000 hours,they cost £3.45 each but will recoup cost inside a year.
also make sure fan is working correctly
