how do i get the barrel out of a upvc door?

the key will not come out of the lock ,when the door is unlocked.i can get it out when the door is locked.would a new barrel fix the problem ???

Change the barrel. Open door & remove screw (edge of door inline with barrel ) turn key to 1 or 11 o'clock pull out.
