DAF LF45 2002 won't start?

Hi I hope someone will be able to help me - I have recently purchased a 2002 daf lf 45/150 which is a horsebox. It won't start since I replaced the batteries. All the electrics work, but when I turn the key I just get lots of "truck warnings" on the dashboard computer and the engine will not turn over.
I phoned daf they suggested touching the battery leads together to reset the ECU - I've done this to no avail. Any ideas as to what is wrong / how to overcome?
Thanks,
Laura

With the warnings you have on it sounds like an engine wirnig loom fault ,.i'll guarantee it ...either the can wires or 1 of the feeds to the ecu, whwn DAFaid attend you will probably find DAVIE will not communicate with the engine ecu

Thanks Norb!
It's definitely not in gear, the warnings are "ABS truck warning", "engine warning" & "alternator warnings"
Batteries were flat as I hadn't driven it for a couple of weeks and it has a tacho fitted which is continuously on.
I will get DAF out tomorrow to try to reset. I'll also check the key and let you know how I get on!
Thanks again!

what warnings ? and why did you change the batteries in the 1st place ...it isn't in gear is it when your trying to start it as the engine won't spin when in gear though that won't explain the warnings..but amy eleminate one issue...also are you using the correct key ?the original daf key with the chip in it for the immobiliser ? give the key a shake and see if you can hear if the chip is loose in the key .if loose carefully prise key apart and insert chip in is slot ..if both points i mention are ok ,check fuses if they are ok you probably have a can issue ie broken wire, check engine ecu has all its covers and isn,t loose on it's mounts..then you need someone to check the feeds are getting to the ecu etc
