Who told you it is obsolete? If an authorised agent from the manufacturer then it may be true but I would be contacting the manufacturer if it was me and kicking up a fuss and demand they help you out as two and half years is pathetic on their part. Who is it made by? If you where told by someone else then get a second opinion straight from the manufacturer first before replacing it.
