How can I fix my brother XL3500i , it is only sewing backward ?

I do not thing that the reverse button is stuck. and the feed dog is not going backward. the fabric goes in the reverse when i press the said button.

maybe a minor problem but best to take it to service center for check up,could be feed dog balance out of sync.not to difficult to set if your techo knows his machine
