what causes low revs in nissan primastar dci-100?

this van stalled on the road after broken timing belt, but after the replacement of the belt, it can't rev beyond 3000 rpm timing is correct what could have happened ?

Bent valves I would imagine. I think the valves will have hit the pistons when the timing belt broke.
