cHARGING for a Westwood sit on tractor T1200?

the charging system is no longer working on my T1200 westwood tractor and I have tried changing the fuses but the charge light is still not on.

How does the charging process work?

I had same problem. I emailed B&S and the reply was instant!! I had a damaged lead, But their detailed help was something you don't get everyday.
