Sounds basic. It is. Dud spotlight bulb in new house won't come out. Tried turning, tapping, screwing, turning upside down, shaking, nothing seems to work. Any hints?
lamp holder may be heated and distorted or contact pins have possibly arc welded on due to poor contact , may result in damage to holder to release the lamp .
