How do I fix my Hitachi VHS/DVD player?

I have a Hitachi VHS/DVD player but when i put a dvd in it just says Load on the screen and it doesn't do nothing, it basiclly freezes. There's an important video in there but I press eject and it don't come out. Please help!!

unless you have experience take this to a tech who will extract the tape without damaging anything. these units are not user servicable!
