F & P gw509 washer will not start?

power is connected, lights in control panel are alight but machine will not start. Have tried to 'reboot' by unplugging with no effect. Machine stopped after one cycle and would not restart for the next load.

When you press start button do you get a beep and the flashing wash light on top row stops flashing? If yes then it is most likely to be the lid switch needs replacing. If no beep and light keep flashing then the display board or the main controller board could be faulty. Usually the display board. The lid switch is mounted under the right hand edge of the top deck, adjacent to the lid edge. Turn power off at wall, remove 2 screws at front of top deck (hidden under plugs) & lift deck slowly until you can see the reed switch held on by one screw. It has a black & a red wire which run along channel & up in to control panel. Look for white corrosion on black reed switch. If there is corrosion, replace it.
