my vans has failed its MOT because of to much smoke i have cleaned the air filter and added Red-X any other sugestions>

Yea it sounds as if you have piston bores worn, or piston rings broken, or badly worn valve stems & seals it is commonly known as oil burning that is oil getting into the combustion chamber and therefore burning it and shoving it through the exhaust system (if that is where it is coming from) verdict >>engine overhaul REgards jim
