My engine make a blowing sounds when I rev my car whilst driving?

When I rev my engine when the car is moving, there is a blowing noise. It sounds as if i have the heaters on full blast but their switched off. This has been going on the a few day now and yesterday a red light came on saying ENGINE SYSTEM FAULT. its a 1.8 Zetec diesel. Any ideas.

have a look at your air intake system paying attention to your intercooler and hoses for splits etc,I think on your engine there are two short hoses at top of engine bay into the intercooler and these were bad for splits causing lack of power,sorry if i am wrong,good luck.
