hp pavilion v6 notebook?

my cd/dvd not working. bought security disk, but nothing happens when I put in disk tray. tried music cd and same result. scanned for problem, and said drivers were up to date, but had error code 309

It looks like the unit itself is bad. If it was dust, it would not report an error code.

You need to replace the DVD drive.
