I have a split in my pole about an inch long, is it ok if i saw it off?

I have a split in my fishing pole about an inch long, is it ok if i saw it off as it is at the very begining on the first section? (The pole is a Polestar pantera carbon series 3000).

i split my number 4 section,all i did was saw it off just above the split,then pushed the section back through the joint.! superglued it and it works a treat.just be careful when cutting the carbon?those splinters are vicious. good luck and hope it works?
