Ford Mondeo zetec 2003, keyed in correct radio code now no sound!?

Help need from some kind person, please!
My 53 plate Ford Mondeo TDci Estate had new alternator fitted this week. Obviously battery reconnected and radio asking for security code. have keyed in correct code and radio/CD isworking but now have no sound. I am baffled..any ideas, please?
