Zanussi zjd 1219 blows fuses after five minutes?

after five minutes the mains fuse blows and then I just turn it on and the main fuse blows - any ideas anybody

element to earth.disconnect ALL wiring to old element and tape connectors so they don't short then try running it.if it gets past 5 min then it is 99.9% element
