I have had exactly the same problem - TWICE! They replaced it for free last time as it was one month inside the warranty, but now, once year and one month later it is happening again with the new machine (same model) and they were INCREDIBLY rude when I called them as they claim I have never had a machine, never had an engineer and never had a replacement! COmputer says no attitude...
I think a class action lawsuit could actually be considered here...what do you think?

hi paul,
i had this problem and am now in touch with trading standards as had a qualified self employed ex indesit engineer inspect my machine and told me it a manufacturing fault (eprom chiop)and he has had to deal with dozens doing the same thing. indesit quited me £176.00 to fix it and the machine was only £100 odd pounds more when bought!!! mine started doing it exactly one month after year warranty ran out. i turned it off for three months and my mom did our washing however turned it on to try it a month ago and it worked!!! however on economy wash the water does not heat up!! i will never buy indesit again and my battle with them has been going on for over 18 months now

You need to count the flashes on the main light ( it repeats every 10 secs ) that will tell you your fault code only then can you decide what the fault is. You would need to ask again when you've counted them.

turn the control knob to a reset position, switch off the machine at plug socket. leave for about 10 seconds then switch plug back on . if this fails to slve your problem your machine will require the eprom chip replacing in the module.
