Eurosec alarm bell chirping?

Hiya all does anybody know what's wrong?.

For the last few days my outside bell has been chirping and it driving us mad (it's above our bedroom window). There's no faults showing on our keypads and the bell works as it should.

Is this an indication of something wrong,

Are they any batteries in there,

How can we stop it or disconnect it please .

Ahhhhhh The "Rapier" my all time fave sounder.

See guys if installer had not been bothered about his profit margin and fitted a proper sounder (rapier), then op wouldn't need to ask this question.

He could be dancing not moaning :D

"the fix " needs a12 bore alarm guy ,then no more probs :-) he not even need ladders

I bet its the Nova, a old one slipped thru.
The "fix" needs an engineer and the right schematics. Or an engineer and a new sounder.
Bet it starts again tonight.

e manno it's stopped now I've shut it down, thanks for your help as we seldom use it but I will get it sorted after the xmas period.

Many thanks.

Eurosec is the make of your alarm panel not the sounder Bill, yours could be one of the many makes out there but novaguard springs to mind.

The eary novaguard sounder's chirped in minus temperatures but that was years ago now so for yours to start at this stage is probably moisture on the pcb or a failing SAB ( battery).

I suggest you get an engineer out for a quick inspection and a SAB test if you want the use of your system,

In the meantime you could shut the system down if you so wish by :

Removing mains power to the panel (pop the fuse out of the spur if fitted),

Open the panel and ignore the tamper alert or outside sounder,

Disconnect the battery,

Let the sounder sound off until the SAB ( battery ) dies.

It will sound at a reduced level but remember mains off first.
