The oven was running earlier and suddenly switch itself off checked in the consumer unit and the rcd had tripped! I turned the cooker switch off and reset the rcd but when switching the cooker on again the rcd tripped instantly! I had read about cookers that have tripped but reset with no heat but none that have not worked at all! Any ideas?
A timer is the first thing that comes up on switch on with all dials on zero but even thats not coming up on the display!

Usually a heater element shorted, if when you ask for oven etc. No heat etc.
But immediately, on switch on, What is active on switch on? A timer? or what? that would be the problem.
