Door security light won't stop flashing even tho door is locked?

i have a hoover vision hd 8142 washing machine. the door is closed and apparently locked as i can't open it unless i wait 2 minutes and i hear the click noise of it locking. however the door security light stays flashing and so the washing machine won't start.

changed door interlock switch for a new one and still not working

Faulty switch unit, check it, incase bad connection. IF you release the door seal, to front of m/c, you should be able to reach switch, TURN M/C OFF 1st. if connections ok, think maybe switch itself, Could be other things, but you have to start somewhere.
