how can i fix central locking for car(fiat stilo jtd)?

hi i have a problem with my remote control for my stilo jtd. a new battery has been fitted, l.e.d on key fob ligths up when fob is pressed,but door locks will not open, possible to open car doors when using key manually. many thanks.
