cover open error?

Our 5200m says cover is open, but it's definately closed. Normally we adjust cover, and press clear, and it work. Now, I cannot get it cleared, I even changed the paper.

Make sure the cover is pressing on the switch correctly. If it doesn't press the cover switch well, you can have this problem. Also, don't forget to press clear after you have closed it.

Quite often there is a sensor to detect lid closed, the sensor comes in 2 parts 1 on the stationary part and 1 on moving part, either a wire has come off stationary part or has fallen down, or the magnet/metal strip on the moving part has fallen off
