Old key switch operated optima?

My sister in law has the above alarm that's developed a fault.All the LED's are lit and the keypad is unresponsive to the user code.The outside sounder and strobe unit is wailing.i'am an electrician by trade so iam not scared of getting my hands dirty. Can anyone give me a heads start with this one please.

Battery change and it should recover.
Not the best but they do survive.

Megger it 2kv that should shut it up, then throw it in da bin,

Or you could always replace the +[battery]- but to be honest it isn't worth it,

That's two guys giving you sound advice.

turn power off at mains remove the cover from the panel disconnect the battery,then dump the bit of trash in the nearest bin !
