Blade not rotating?

After a period of inactivity (longer than 1 season), my Flymo Power Compact 330 switches on but blade does not rotate. Any

On some Flymo machines the blade is directly attached to the motor - if the motor turns then the blade does too.

On other Flymo machine a flexible belt joins motor to blade. If the belt breaks or falls off the blade does not rotate even if the motor does.
