start up mower?

tried to start up my challenge xtreme mower todayit wouldn't fire up cleaned up the plug and lead and changed petrol still didn't start any suggestions

remove the spark plug.put it on a gas ring and get the spark end nice and hot.screw it back in to the mower.Pliers help to hold it as it is hot and then prime mower and start whilst plug nice and warm
