So my buddy got the bright idea one day to snap the steering wheel side to side because it was locked up and no key. Well when he found the key, it wouldn't start.

So I found a replacement steering wheel on ebay, it plopped right in, including the airbag from my good steering wheel, (it did not come with an airbag, i stuck my good airbag from my old steering wheel with the broken locking mechanism into it) and I hooked it all up (battery dc'd of course) car runs fine, but my airbag light is still flashing continuously.

I read some methods for resetting the diagnostics, but it doesn't seem to do anything, wondering if my older vehicle has a different method.

How much should it cost to just have a diagnostic run, for them to do the code reader, and then tell me what is wrong with it. I just hate going to mechanics because they always jerk you around and lie about stuff.

you may have issues with your clock spring just below the steering wheel,it would benefit getting the motor onto a suitable code reader to determine the way forward
