Just bought a new world 55THG oven through the internet,The grill takes forever to light and when it does the gas cuts out after 2 mins

Hi all, can anyone help !!! iv just brought my mother in law a new gas cooker high level grill but im unable to fit the cooker due the thermocouple fitting with the sliced bolt provided in the bag, to enable a safe connection but unable to get my head around it, being how to use this connection bolt, im sure its a simple but driving me nuts please help
