Diplomat 8352 dishwasher doesn't wash?

On starting, pump starts then cycle begins. However instead of doing the wash cycle there is a faint humming noise. Could this mean a motor replacement? Anyone help.......?

it is possible that there is either faulty starting cap on main motor/pump or something stuck inside pump on main motor/pump
