my makita hand drill wont rotate clockwise?

I have a makita hand drill(hp 1620) which do not work when I put it in forward, however it do run in reverse

It will be an electric drill bob - with a hand drill you have to turn the handle one way or another.

The forward reverse switch may well be defective.

A good tool shop may be able to repair it.
