clutch/gearbox? noise on 1988 leyland roadrunner?

i'm getting very random noise from the gearbox area, when you dip the clutch it usually goes away or coast it for 20 yards then it goes away. noise sounds like exhaust blowing at the manifold but its not. help

As below. You should be able to grease the bearing from underneath through the inspection panel. Do this every 2-3 weeks. Nice to see someone with a real truck.
