I changed the ribbon on my Uniwell nx 5400 cash register. Now portions of the information being printed is missing. It looks as if part of the letter or number being printed is missing ink.

Your symptoms suggest that the ribon was not installed properly. It probably travel to high or to low. It may also be folded.

Inspect the ribon to make sure that it's flat from the source reel to the receiving reel.

Make sure that it's properly routed through the guides.
