Siemens Oven light not working?

My Siemens Oven (HD8710) light has stopped working. I have replaced the bulb to no avail. I'm just wondering what it could involve to fix it.

check new bulb is good then suspect light fitting has bad connection inside it.also check with a multimeter for power to the light socket
