Micromark Camera System MM23177 Light stays on all the time?

I fitted a Micromark Camera System MM232177 yesterday and the light stays on all the time. Is this correct?
I would like it to come on when dark and only when someone approaches the house.

What does it say in the instructions because I cannot find any.
From other reports the camera is on 24/7 so you will need a DVR
