I work for "safe n sound ltd". We repaire PVCu windows and doors in the West Yorkshire region and also supply hardware nationwide to enable other people to replace broken parts. The explanation of freeing your door from the failed locked position is too long to write out here and depends on the exact door you have. I would be able to help you better over the phone. You can contact me on 01422 378558 9-5:30 mon- fri.

There are a few things to bare in mind. It is likely the multi point lock mechanism has broken so when you manage to open the door, you won't be able to lock it again until you have found, bought and fitted the new lock. There are ways around this too which I can go into over the phone.

We have a website "www.safensoundltd.com" where a whole range of products for PVCu windows and doors can be veiwed and bought.

This is only a guess. You unlocked the door to open it and it's not done so.
It's possible the slide bolts have not fully released.
the only way you might get it open is to remove the window then drill a hole in the window recess of the frame insert a screwdriver and hope you can push the bar down.
The windows are fitted from the inside and the surrounding plastic strip clip out.
