Can I mind the cord to my Bathroom Light?

The switching mechanism that operates the light in my bathroom does not seem to be working. nothing happens when I pull the cord. Can this be fixed or replaced?

You can buy them at any DIY store for a few quid,turn the power off and just replace it like for like.Take photos as you go if your not sure.
